Triggers Overview

Triggers define how and when notifications are created. OCM Pulse supports three types of triggers: Manual, Flash, and RSS.

Trigger Types

Manual Trigger

Send notifications on-demand through the dashboard. Ideal for:

  • Announcements
  • Breaking news
  • Special promotions
  • One-time campaigns

Flash Trigger

Paste an article URL and send instantly — content is pulled in automatically, no template or setup required. Ideal for:

  • Fast reactions to trending content
  • Sharing an external article quickly
  • Any one-off send where speed matters more than fine-tuning

RSS Trigger

Automatically send notifications when new content is published in an RSS feed. Ideal for:

  • Blog posts
  • News articles
  • Podcast episodes
  • Product updates

Accessing Triggers

  1. Navigate to your app
  2. Click Triggers in the app menu
  3. You'll see:
    • Available trigger types
    • Configured RSS triggers with health status

Trigger + Segment Targeting

All three trigger types support segment targeting:

This lets you send targeted notifications without creating separate triggers.
